Medicare Modernization Act

(MMA)

As part of the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA), signed December 8^th, 2003, there are new programs called Medicare  Advantage (formerly known as Medicare + Choice).  These plans, though not available in all areas, typically offer additional benefits compared to the traditional Medicare program, and are at a lower cost to the consumer.  Benefits usually require co-payments for services provided and may have provider restrictions.
